Sometimes referred to as Western Medical Acupuncture, Dry Needling is a technique using acupuncture needles to disperse muscle tension and improve muscle function. The needles are inserted into specific areas in the muscle known as myofascial trigger points to reduce activity of the trigger point. The aim of the treatment is to restore normal muscle function and reduce pain.
It is a safe and sterile technique, the needles used have no ability to inject or withdraw fluid.
